netdiscover software package provides active/passive network address scanner using arp requests, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install netdiscover
netdiscover is installed in your system.
Make ensure the netdiscover package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep netdiscover *
You will get with netdiscover package name, version, architecture and description in a table
